Friendly wedding areas of Tuscany

This article wants to be my homage to Tuscany and its most famous areas.

You are thinking about a wedding in Tuscany

Let’s start from the base.

Italy is the Nation

Tuscany is one of its 20 regions

Chianti is the famous a hilly area between Florence and Siena , from san Casciano val di pesa until Castelnuovo Berardenga to be precise

Firenze (Florence) is the regional county seats of Tuscany

To me, the most beautiful region in Italy.

I was born in Florence city center and grew up in the Chianti. Such a lucky girl.

Lucky enough to have the chance to explore this region every weekend or even during the week, thanks to my job.

Lucky enough to be able to count about my region with this article (and many more in the future).

Chianti

The overall region of Chianti is located between the cities of Florence and Siena.

The Chianti area is known as a land of great wines and culinary traditions. The hilly landscape is the perfect area for the growing of the finest grapes in the world and a unique setting for a romantic wedding reception.

Some of the most beautiful venues are located here since it offers fully restored renaissance villas with Italian gardens, large halls, ancient woods, wineries to host a welcome dinner with your friends and family in one of the most beautiful parts of Tuscany.

Firenze

The biggest city of the region but yet small and cozy.

The city is so filled with beauty, in fact, that many visitors are overwhelmed, such as nineteenth century French writer Stendhal. According to Stendhal, while he was admiring the Basilica of Santa Croce during a trip to Florence in 1817, he experienced heart palpitations and felt dizzy. It is believed that others may experience similar symptoms when viewing Florence’s treasures, and in 1979 the syndrome was given a name: Stendhal syndrome

In addition to its classification as immensely beautiful, Florence can also be described as rich in culture. As the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, one of the world’s most important and influential cultural movements

There are many wedding Venues around Florence where you can host a unique reception that will impress all of your guest. In the area of Fiesole and Settignano you will find marvellous reinassance villas to plan the wedding day you always dreamed about.

Many of these are also suitable for large groups and offer indoor space in case of bad weather or for a winter wedding.

The proximity to Florence, then, offers certain advantages such as the possibility for your guests to choose their accommodation among dozens of options at different price and the chance to have a catholic ceremony in one of the churches located in the city centre

Siena

Located in central Italy, deep in the heart of the region of Tuscany, is the enchanting and picturesque hilltop city of Siena. This gorgeous city is known for its medieval roots and gothic architecture which are said to transport visitors back in time as they explore the treasures of Siena.

Siena is primarily a pedestrian city with little to no traffic in the heart of the city. This contributes greatly to the old world charm of the city in addition to the steep and narrow roadways that are known for winding their way, around making outings an adventure from the start.

Driving south -west from Siena you can find the magnificent Val D’orcia with its golden hills and perfectly placed cypress trees.. just looking at them you can hear the Gladiator’s theme playing in your mind, such a feast for the eyes.

By choosing a venue in the hills around Siena you will bring your guests to enjoy the aromas and flavor of the Tuscan medieval and Renaissance times.

Villages such as Radda in Chianti, Monteriggioni, San Gimignano and Montalcino are the ideal wedding venue for a romantic wedding in the name of tradition. here you can find fully restored villas and country houses to plan an intimate wedding reception away from the crowds.

Lucca

A charming town, my favorite!

Lucca is completely surrounded by ancient Renaissance walls. Beyond the stone walls, travelers are welcomed into a city filled with Romanesque churches, Gothic towers, local restaurants, quaint boutiques, and walkways that line the city walls, allowing visitors to take in the beauty of the town.

The city’s culture is characterized by a love of art, chamber and classical music, and of course architecture. It is the birthplace of famed composer Giacomo Puccini and is home to a variety of museums that display art from the city’s long history. Medieval buildings and historic churches are sprinkled throughout Lucca, making it an excellent city to stroll through and explore.

Not to forget, it is very close to the Versilia area, the north coastline of Tuscany featuring unlimited golden beaches, lovely sea towns where you can enjoy the best seafood and a glamour aperitivo in one of the famous stabilimenti balneary along the coast.

The historical Lucchese villas are world renown for their architectural splendor and magnificent gardens and are nestled in the hills and valleys surrounding the fabulous walled city of Lucca. Each of these villas are beautifully restored with vast well sculptured gardens, archways, large halls, frescos, statues, ponds and small lakes. Each corner of each estate provides a natural glorious backdrop for the different moments of your wedding day.

These villas are perfect for large groups since they feature immense gardens, loggias and lemonhouses.
